Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist specializing in oncology, offering a direct hire position at a respected medical center located at the Sussex Campus Hospital. The role is full-time, requiring 80 hours per pay period, with day shifts.

Responsibilities include collaborating with oncologists to optimize chemotherapy treatment and supportive care for cancer patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The pharmacist will provide education to healthcare staff, serve as an oncology subject matter expert, and participate in clinical rounds with fellows and physicians to recommend therapy adjustments in alignment with evidence-based guidelines. They will review electronic health records care plans, address medication-related issues, and provide patient-centered education on chemotherapy therapies. Additional duties include precepting pharmacy residents and students and engaging in oncology service line meetings to improve patient care quality and safety.

Qualifications required:

  • Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Completion of PGY-1 residency or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience (minimum 3 years) or PGY-2 oncology residency or equivalent oncology practice (minimum 3 years)
  • Licensed Pharmacist
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP)
  • Minimum three years hospital experience including clinical training and oncology practice

Preferred qualifications:

  • Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY-2 pharmacy residency in a related specialty
  • Alternatively, PGY-1 completed plus 3 years relevant experience and BCOP certification
  • Or minimum 5 years oncology experience with BCOP certification
