Job Description
Make a meaningful difference by providing expert support for students on the autism spectrum within a collaborative educational environment. This contract role is based in Southern Oregon, serving the area within a 35-mile radius of Medford—including Ashland, Eagle Point, and Grants Pass. You’ll consult across K-12 settings, sharing your specialized knowledge in autism and behavioral support to help students reach their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s-level credential in Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), or School Psychology with a TSPC license (Board Certified SLPs highly valued)
- Alternatively, BCBA-certified professionals with focused autism training and experience will be considered
- A minimum of three years working directly with students on the autism spectrum across a variety of grade and age levels
- Experience supporting students with a wide range of severities, from high-functioning individuals in general education to non-speaking students in more intensive, self-contained settings
- Strong track record in conducting autism evaluations and using assessment data to inform interventions
- In-depth understanding of public school procedures and special education processes
- Proper Oregon licensure and certification required
- Onsite work is required; travel professionals are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities:
- Consult with school teams and educators on best practices, programming, and supports for students with autism
- Conduct comprehensive autism evaluations to guide individual education plans (IEPs)
- Develop and model individualized intervention strategies for diverse student needs
- Provide direct support and training to school staff and families
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, outcomes, and interventions
