Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Arizona (or eligibility for reciprocity)
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a K-2 setting
- Knowledge of resource and cross-categorical models
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to suit diverse learners
- Strong collaboration skills and an inclusive, communicative approach with students, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility, empathy, and a commitment to professional growth
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to K-2 students within resource and cross-categorical classrooms
- Develop, implement, and track student IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and meaningful progress
- Adapt instructional materials and techniques to meet individual student needs
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
