Key Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a high school environment is highly valued
- Resourceful in supporting a diverse student caseload (approximately 14–20 students)
- Knowledgeable in Michigan's educational system; Michigan Special Education Certification strongly preferred
- Proficient in academic intervention, social-emotional support, and behavior management strategies
- Effective communicator with students, colleagues, and families
- Organized and adaptable in a dynamic school environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted academic assistance to students in 9th grade or 10th–12th grade as assigned
- Foster a supportive resource room atmosphere that addresses varied learning needs
- Implement social-emotional learning supports and tailored behavior interventions
- Collaborate with general education staff to integrate accommodations and modifications
- Monitor progress and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with IEPs and state requirements
- Cultivate positive relationships that encourage student growth, resilience, and independence
