Pharmacist - Sterile Compounding

Location: Lake Butler, Florida (Gainesville Area)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

We are seeking a motivated Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to join a growing closed-door pharmacy team serving correctional healthcare nationwide. This role focuses on sterile compounding, clinical pharmacy services, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders.

  • Perform sterile compounding in compliance with USP <797> and USP <800>.

  • Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations.

  • Review medication profiles for allergies, interactions, dosing, and compatibility.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians.

  • Maintain cleanroom standards, aseptic technique, and environmental monitoring.

  • Participate in quality assurance, audits, medication safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain compounding, batch, and quality documentation.

  • Assist with inventory management, controlled substances, and pharmacy operations.

  • Support pharmacy policies, procedures, staff training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

QualificationsRequired
  • Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing.

  • Recent hands-on sterile compounding experience with chemotherapy medications (required).

  • Must be able to independently compound sterile chemotherapy medications when needed.

  • Strong knowledge of USP <797>, USP <800>, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Full-time availability is strongly preferred.

Preferred
  • Home infusion, hospital, or oncology infusion pharmacy experience.

  • Pharmacy leadership, Pharmacy Manager, or Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) experience is a plus.

  • Leadership experience is not required, but candidates with management experience will be considered favorably for future growth opportunities.

Additional Hiring Information
  • The primary hiring focus is one Full-Time Sterile Compounding Pharmacist.

  • The client is also open to reviewing Part-Time/PRN pharmacists with sterile chemotherapy compounding experience.

  • While full-time candidates are the priority, candidates who are open to part-time opportunities are encouraged to indicate their interest during the screening process.

  • If multiple highly qualified candidates are identified, the client may consider hiring additional full-time or part-time pharmacists.
