About the Community

The city of Downey boasts a rich cultural heritage and a strong sense of community. Positioned as a gateway between Los Angeles and Orange Counties, it offers residents a peaceful, family-oriented atmosphere while providing easy access to various attractions and social activities in both counties.

Work Environment

At our Downey location, we foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration, prioritizing both patient safety and the ability of caregivers to voice their concerns. Our leadership promotes accessibility and maintains a flat organizational structure, which builds trust among physicians and support staff. Innovation is a key focus; for instance, Downey was the first medical center in the area to perform same-day total joint surgeries. We also emphasize efficiency, continually improving workflows across the medical center and ancillary offices. Wellness—both physical and mental—is a priority, with regular opportunities for socializing, dining, and exercising together. With a high level of tertiary care, one of the largest NICUs in the region, and a dedicated OB and anesthesia team, Downey provides exceptional service to a diverse and high-risk patient population.

Equal Employment Opportunity

All external candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening. Qualified individuals with arrest and/or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, or disability.
