Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Medical Front Desk Professional to join our fast-paced medical practice. In this role, you will serve as the face of our clinic, ensuring seamless patient intake, verifying insurance, assisting patients with digital registration, and supporting daily administrative operations. The ideal candidate brings at least one year of medical practice front desk experience, exceptional patient-facing skills, and a strong team-first mentality.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient information and insurance eligibility, especially for new patients.
- Collect co-pays, patient balances, and process payments upon check-in and check-out.
- Manage digital registration via Phreesia, verifying patient registration prior to visits and providing tablets for incomplete profiles.
- Rotate as a waiting room floater to sit with and assist patients in completing their digital paperwork.
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments, and scan patient images and records into the system.
- Ensure Primary Care Physician (PCP) letters are sent out and insurance authorizations are fully completed.
- Submit paperwork to third-party partners (e.g., Verisma) as needed.
- Maintain a great disposition and deliver top-tier customer service in a high-volume setting.
- Be a proactive team player willing to assist wherever needed, including occasional coverage at sister locations (Irvine/Laguna) if necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 solid year of healthcare/medical front desk experience (Dental/Vision experience does not translate to this role).
- Working knowledge of medical insurance types and verification processes.
- Strong patient-facing and customer service skills with a positive, proactive disposition.
- High level of attention to detail and a strong record of reliable attendance.
- Ability and willingness to occasionally cover sister clinic locations on rare occasions if needed.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent); ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced medical practice.
- Prior hands-on experience using Aprima EHR and Phreesia software systems.
Schedule
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Thursday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Compensation
$23- 25 hourly (DOE) | Scrubs required (solid colors)
