Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a 165-licensed bed hospital specializing in behavioral health. This role is essential for maintaining the continuity and quality of pharmacy services during leadership transition. The facility currently serves an average daily census of 130 patients and supports a dedicated team comprising one full-time pharmacist, four per diem pharmacists, and 2.6 full-time equivalent pharmacy technicians.

Location: Milton, WV
Job Type: Contract (starting August 31, 2026, until permanent hire)
Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • On-call coverage required after shifts and on weekends

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • West Virginia pharmacist licensure (required)
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy management
  • Familiarity with Omnicell systems highly preferred (training available)
  • Experience with order entry systems such as HCS (training provided)
  • Strong leadership skills in staffing and administrative functions of a pharmacy department
  • Previous exposure to behavioral health pharmacy services is a plus

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations and serve as the PIC during the interim period
  • Take charge of staffing, scheduling, and administrative duties to ensure smooth workflow
  • Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and support staff on order filling, delivery, and inventory management
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support pharmacy services after hours and on weekends
  • Receive onsite training and mentorship from the retiring Director of Pharmacy to ensure a seamless transition
  • Maintain professional business casual dress code while onsite
