Step into a meaningful contract role as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, making a direct impact across multiple school sites in a vibrant educational setting near Anoka, MN for the 2025-2026 school year. You’ll collaborate with fellow Behavior Intervention Specialists and Special Education leadership to implement effective positive behavior supports and interventions, improving outcomes for diverse students. This full-time, onsite position includes a training week starting August 25th, with students returning September 8th, and runs through June 10th, 2027. Typical hours are 8:30 AM to 4:10 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

What you'll need:

  • Credential as a BCBA or a Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 license required for SpEd applicants)
  • Demonstrated experience in school settings as a Behavior Specialist or related field
  • Proven ability to conduct functional behavior assessments and develop/implement behavior intervention plans
  • Capacity to consult, communicate, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Skills in staff training, crisis intervention, and the use of positive behavior supports
  • Willingness to travel between 3-4 assigned school sites (assignments based on district needs)
  • Experience with student safety protocols and compliance practices
  • RBTs are not eligible for this position

Key responsibilities:

  • Consult and implement positive behavior interventions districtwide
  • Use data-driven approaches to drive decisions and monitor progress
  • Provide training and support for school staff to reinforce positive student behaviors
  • Create individualized education plans in line with district and state/federal guidelines
  • Utilize de-escalation strategies and, when necessary, restrictive procedures to ensure safety
  • Uphold compliance with district policies and support a positive learning environment
