Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Lead the pharmacy operations of a dynamic pharmacy department in Lewistown, PA, with a direct hire opportunity starting ASAP. This role demands strong leadership skills, a commitment to regulatory compliance, and a focus on driving business growth through clinical programs and exceptional customer service. The position offers a variable schedule with 10- to 12-hour shifts, including day and afternoon coverage.
Schedule:
- 10-hour shifts: typically 9am – 7pm
- 11-hour shifts: typically 9am – 8pm
- 12-hour shifts: either 8am – 8pm or 9am – 9pm
- Variable day/afternoon shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with store operations, fostering associate engagement and communicating strategic goals.
- Ensure accuracy in prescription fulfillment through Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, compliant with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Manage departmental profitability and script growth by implementing clinical programs such as immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
- Work closely with the District Manager and pharmacy staff to control inventory and optimize stock based on sales.
- Align pharmacy performance objectives with measurable department metrics to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provide healthcare counseling and resolve customer inquiries to enhance trust and loyalty.
- Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy associates, and support staff, including training, coaching, and discipline.
- Uphold pharmacy security and maintain orderly department conditions.
- Interact with physicians and utilize reference materials to resolve prescription issues.
- Prioritize and complete departmental tasks such as cycle counts, inventory management, and will-calls timely.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree
- Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Current Pennsylvania Immunization License
