Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional, Instructional Aide, or classroom assistant preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant college coursework a plus
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in supporting children’s growth
- Familiarity with IEPs or special education settings is desirable
- Ability to follow directions and take initiative when needed
- Meet any state or district requirements for school paraprofessionals
Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and individualized support
- Offer encouragement and guidance to students in both group and one-on-one settings
- Help implement behavior management strategies and classroom routines
- Support students with educational activities, assignments, and daily tasks
- Adapt techniques and materials to meet student needs under teacher direction
- Accompany students during outings, transitions, and designated school activities
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Collaborate with other school staff to foster a positive learning environment
