Job Description
A fulfilling opportunity awaits for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) interested in making an impact in educational settings. Three full-time contract positions are available within a supportive school environment, serving students through the academic year. Assignments take place entirely onsite, fostering collaboration and engagement with diverse student groups.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and evaluations to identify student speech and language needs.
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families.
- Providing direct therapy services to a caseload of approximately 60 students.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports to track student development.
- Consulting with teachers, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to support students’ overall educational goals.
- Managing services across dedicated schools, depending on the assignment:
- Full-time: Pinson Valley High School.
- Split schedule: McAdory Elementary/McCalla Elementary (2 days/3 days).
- Split schedule: Hueytown Middle School/Lipscomb Elementary (3 days/2 days).
- Participating in professional development and school-wide initiatives to support best practices in speech-language pathology.
Candidate requirements:
- Active SLP certification with ASHA CCC preferred.
- Valid SLP educator certificate in Alabama.
- Successful completion of background check and fingerprint process as required by Alabama standards.
- Experience in school-based SLP settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
