Position: RN Clinical Site Float Pool – St. Francis Medical CenterJob Overview:The RN Clinical Float Pool is responsible for assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards. The primary role involves being adaptable and available to float across various departments and locations within our organization to deliver patient care. This may include same-day staffing adjustments, multiple assignments within a single shift, travel assignments, or seasonal staffing needs. The RN will collaborate as part of the healthcare team under the guidance of a clinical manager or designated leader, adhering to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for Registered Nurses.
Key Responsibilities:- Float expectations are tiered as follows:
- Tier 1: Float within a single site based on competency.
- Tier 2: Float across multiple sites within a single market based on competency.
- Tier 3: Float across multiple sites in different markets based on competency.
- Support departmental and organizational goals through active participation in quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as an advocate for patient safety by engaging in ongoing quality enhancement efforts.
- Integrate the professional practice model into care delivery.
- Plan and coordinate nursing care and clinical decisions based on the best available evidence.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, including interventions, evaluations, and documentation tailored to their condition and age.

Education Requirements:- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)
- Current nursing license in the state of employment (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications as required based on specialty assignment (American Heart Association)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting (required)
- Knowledge of medical equipment
- Proficient clinical skills
- Understanding of professional nursing principles and practices
- Ability to perform patient assessments
- Proficiency in using computerized tools
- Accountability for completing required education and competencies
- Exhibit professionalism, ethical practice, and a customer-focused approach
- Experience with patient restraints
- Coordination of patient care delivery
- Integration of quality improvement, evidence-based practices, and research into practice
- Strong teamwork and critical thinking skills
