Join a progressive pediatric teaching hospital as a night-shift inpatient pharmacist. This is a great opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist looking for a 7on/7off schedule in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Position Details

  • Start: ASAP
  • Assignment: 13 weeks, with potential temp-to-hire
  • Schedule: 7-on/7-off nights
  • Hours: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Typical rotation: Thursday–Wednesday
  • Scheduling: DOP is flexible
  • Facility: 359-bed pediatric teaching hospital
  • Arkansas License: Temporary Arkansas Pharmacist License accepted

Responsibilities

  • Compound and dispense medications according to physician orders
  • Review medication orders for appropriate dosing, route, regimen, interactions, allergies, and therapeutic duplications
  • Verify pediatric doses based on diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area
  • Identify and intervene on drug therapy issues, including adverse reactions and compatibility concerns
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare providers regarding medication therapy
  • Monitor patients and make recommendations to optimize therapeutic outcomes
  • Evaluate non-formulary medication requests and recommend appropriate alternatives
  • Ensure medications are accurately prepared, labeled, and dispensed
  • Process medication orders efficiently and prioritize workflow appropriately
  • Provide clinical pharmacy support in patient care areas
  • Participate in drug information, therapeutic drug monitoring, and drug utilization review activities
  • Educate patients, pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, and students as needed
  • Assist with medication inventory, recalls, loans/borrows, and departmental inventory
  • Coordinate medication purchasing and substitutions when products are unavailable
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy documentation and compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Active Arkansas Pharmacist License or temporary Arkansas Pharmacist License
  • 2+ years of inpatient hospital pharmacist experience
  • IV/sterile compounding experience or IV certification
  • BCPS certification
  • Strong clinical and operational pharmacy experience
  • Ability to work independently on an overnight 7-on/7-off schedule
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced pediatric hospital environment

Important: Arkansas offers a temporary pharmacist license, so candidates who are currently in the process of obtaining their Arkansas license may still be considered.
