Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credentials
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in special education
- Familiarity with remote instruction platforms and virtual classroom techniques
- Ability to adapt lessons to the needs of a homebound learner
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and educational teams
- Patience, empathy, and a collaborative approach to individualized education plans (IEPs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction to a homebound 6th-grade student
- Customize lesson plans based on IEP goals and adapt content as needed
- Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to strategies when necessary
- Provide regular feedback to parents/guardians and coordinate with school personnel
- Utilize a variety of online tools to create an interactive and supportive virtual learning experience
- Maintain compliance with all reporting and documentation requirements
