\nThe Work
\nLockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Software Engineer. In this role, you will perform software development tasks supporting Navy programs. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of coding in Java/C++ on a Linux Operating System.
\nThis position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate will be required to hold an active government Secret security clearance.

\nBasic Qualifications
\n- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience.
\n- Proven Java development experience, including multithreading.
\n- Strong Linux/Unix development, integration, and troubleshooting background.
\n- Ability to integrate, test, troubleshoot, and refactor software systems.
\nDesired Skills
\n- Advanced Java multithreading
\n- Database experience (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or comparable)
\n- Inter‑process messaging middleware (gRPC, Artemis)
\n- UI frameworks: JavaFX / Swing
\n- Reactive programming (RxJava, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow)
\n- Performance‑tuning tools (JVisualVM, JConsole, JProfiler)
\n- Containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
\n- Agile full‑lifecycle development familiarity
\n- Bash scripting proficiency
\n- 3+ years combined experience in Linux, scripting/software development, and configuration management
\nSecurity Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

\nAbility to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
\nWork Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
\nSchedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
