This onsite assignment spans from August 17 to November 4, specializing in delivering physical therapy services to special education students across various grade levels, with a notable focus on transition-age students (20–22 years old). Your expertise will help learners develop, improve, or compensate for challenges with gross motor skills, making a direct impact on their educational and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist license
- Demonstrated experience in pediatric physical therapy
- Prior experience working within a school environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly when partnering with educators and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide educationally relevant physical therapy assessments, interventions, and documentation for students with a range of developmental needs
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to tailor appropriate therapeutic plans
- Support students in acquiring skills for greater classroom participation, independence, and engagement
- Adapt interventions to address the unique needs of students, particularly those progressing into adulthood
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as needed
