Job Description
Make a difference for a young learner as a Special Education Teacher supporting a 3rd grade Life Skills student through Homebound services. This contract-based opportunity provides essential instructional and compensatory hours weekly and requires a dedicated, compassionate educator who thrives in one-on-one environments. The assignment begins as soon as possible, with homebound services continuing through ESY (date to be confirmed) and an option to extend through the entire 2026-2027 school year.
What We're Looking For:
- Special Education Teacher certification with experience in specialized or homebound instruction
- Strong understanding of life skills education at the elementary level
- Ability to deliver individualized instruction, adapt lessons, and provide instructional/compensatory services
- Comfortable working onsite and maintaining clear communication with families and school teams
- Up-to-date on current best practices and legally compliant documentation
- Enthusiasm for enriching the education experience of students with diverse learning needs
Key Duties:
- Provide 6 hours per week of Homebound services (4 hours instructional, 2 hours compensatory)
- Develop and implement engaging, tailored lesson plans for a 3rd grade Life Skills student
- Maintain thorough records of progress, attendance, and service delivery
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and district personnel to ensure continuity of services
- Adjust teaching strategies to maximize student success
- Remain flexible to schedule adjustments and evolving ESY dates
- Participate in regular meetings and updates as required by the district
