Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience in a self-contained classroom strongly preferred
- Familiarity with SEAL (Social Emotional Academic Learning) and/or PALS (Peer-Assisted Learning Strategies) programs a plus
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Compassion, flexibility, and an inclusive teaching mindset
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff and families
Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated instruction customized to the needs of each student
- Manage a caseload (to be assigned) within a self-contained environment
- Develop and update IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive, supportive learning atmosphere that inspires student engagement
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records per program requirements
- Participate in professional development and stay current on best practices in special education
- Collaborate with general education teachers, instructional assistants, and family members to drive student growth
