Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician (Direct Hire)

Location: Syracuse, New York

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Are you an experienced Pharmacy Technician with sterile compounding expertise? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a growing pharmacy team committed to delivering safe, high-quality patient care. This role offers a stable weekday schedule and the opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists in coordinating daily pharmacy operations and workflow.
  • Process prescriptions, enter orders, and maintain documentation under pharmacist supervision.
  • Prepare and compound sterile medications in accordance with USP standards, state regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain clean room environments, pharmacy equipment, and infusion devices.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control activities and documentation.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
  • Coordinate medication refills, supply fulfillment, and delivery logistics.
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records within electronic systems.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, providers, and referral sources.
  • Assist with authorization verification, reimbursement support, and pharmacy records management.
  • Generate operational reports and participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Active New York Pharmacy Technician license required.
  • PTCB Certification required or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Completion of Sterile Compounding Training preferred
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, drug terminology, aseptic technique, and medication usage.
  • Previous sterile compounding experience in a home infusion, hospital, specialty pharmacy, or related setting required
  • Knowledge of USP standards and sterile compounding best practices.
  • Minimum one year of Pharmacy Technician experience required
