Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time RN for our Acute Care - Cardiac Telemetry unit. The RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role as part of a collaborative team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families, and significant others receive personalized, high-quality, and safe care. This role operates within a clinical environment overseen by Nurse Managers and supported by our Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by our Professional Practice Model, emphasizing evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are aligned with these models and reflect our core values.

All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and adhere to the standards of nursing as defined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, while implementing the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics established by the American Nurses Association. As part of the patient services team, you will advocate for the patient's voice and adhere to system policies and procedures, all while striving for service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplary Practice and Outcomes:
  • Utilize the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in clinical care, applying evidence-based practices and critical thinking to ensure individualized care.
  • Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care that respects population-specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, health conditions) and cultural diversity.
  • Engage with patients and their significant others through appropriate communication methods (e.g., bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds) to keep them informed and focused on their care goals.
  • Adhere to current clinical practice standards.
• Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care that aligns with the professional care delivery model, utilizing diverse communication methods and ensuring timely documentation.
  • Exhibit teamwork by practicing fiscal responsibility and supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance to enhance patient care quality.
• Professional Development and Initiative:
  • Complete all required competency assessments and ongoing education, including population-specific training.
  • Act as a preceptor or mentor for fellow nurses and other staff to foster a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.
• Evidence-Based Practice and Research:
  • Encourage evidence-based practice and nursing research, participating in value analysis for patient care product evaluation.
  • Comply with all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, ensuring adherence to legal and accreditation standards.
  • Engage in data collection and consult experts to address clinical questions with evidence-based solutions.
• Resources and Support:
  • Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum while providing direct care.
  • Contribute to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and the healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Support the efficient use of human and material resources.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Compliance with all organizational policies, standards of work, and code of conduct is expected.

Qualifications

• Education:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • RN - Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - Multi-state Compact required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support or equivalent certification required upon hire.
• Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of RN experience is required, with direct patient care experience preferred.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; basic computer skills and technology use in clinical care.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with composure and respect.
  • Excellent time management and critical thinking skills, utilizing evidence and analytical abilities in nursing practice.
