Our organization is looking for a fellowship-trained Pediatric Urologist to enhance our expanding pediatric surgical team. This is a remarkable chance to engage in the full spectrum of pediatric urology at the region's sole Children's Hospital, all within a supportive, multidisciplinary academic setting.
Position OverviewThe selected candidate will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric urologic services, which include office-based procedures and surgical care at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital. This role provides a well-rounded clinical practice, complemented by access to academic resources, collaborative colleagues, and robust support from advanced practice providers.
Position Highlights- Full-time faculty role within an academic medical institution
- Combination of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties
- Conduct procedures in both outpatient settings and the Children's Hospital
- Join a cooperative team consisting of:
- 1 pediatric urologist
- 1.5 dedicated pediatric advanced practice providers
- Access to a well-established referral network throughout the Capital Region and beyond
- Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide array of pediatric urologic conditions
- Provide care in outpatient clinics, inpatient consult services, and the operating room
- Perform in-office and hospital-based surgical procedures
- Work closely with pediatric surgery, pediatrics, anesthesia, nursing, and advanced practice colleagues
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary care models
- Participate in teaching activities aligned with academic practice, as appropriate
- Excellent clinical facilities with convenient patient access and complimentary parking
- Located next to an outpatient surgery center within the same building
- In-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, and laboratory technician support
- Outstanding urology residency program with fellowship-trained faculty across all urologic subspecialties, admitting three residents annually with distinguished graduates
- Frequent student interactions, with rotations highly rated by participants
- Numerous opportunities for clinical and basic research, supported by three in-house clinical research staff to assist with the IRB process and participant interactions
- Encouraged student and resident research rotations
- MD/DO (or equivalent) with board certification or eligibility in Urology
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited urology residency
- Fellowship training in pediatric urology
- Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State
- Academic rank is flexible (Assistant, Associate, or Professor) based on experience and qualifications
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care
- Dedication to teaching, mentoring, and advancing pediatric urology
