Occupational Therapist School Setting in Bernalillo, NM

Step into a rewarding contract position serving students in the Rio Rancho area for the remainder of the school year. This opportunity offers you the chance to make a tangible impact across both elementary and secondary caseloads, supporting approximately 40–50 students in a vibrant educational setting. You’ll collaborate with staff and families, delivering occupational therapy services designed to help students achieve their full potential.

Enjoy a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week with assignments starting ASAP and continuing through May 28th. Your expertise is valued whether you bring experience from schools, home health, or other healthcare settings. While experience in educational environments is a plus, it isn't required—enthusiastic and adaptable OTs are welcome.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Eligible for or possession of an active NM RLD license
• Eligible for or possession of an NMPED license
• Prior school-based or pediatric experience is preferred, but new graduates and those with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of 40–50 students spanning elementary and secondary grades
• Provide direct therapy, assessment, and consultation services within the school environment
• Develop intervention plans, set goals, and document progress in accordance with IEPs and district guidelines
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student success
• Adapt services to meet a variety of student needs and learning settings
