Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to support medication management in a Long Term Care and Mail Order pharmacy setting. This contract-to-hire position offers a professional environment with a focus on quality patient care and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Schedule & Location:

  • Days, Monday to Friday
  • Four 10-hour shifts (choose 9:00 AM–7:00 PM or 10:00 AM–8:00 PM)
  • Located in Candler, NC
  • 13-week contract with potential for direct hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accepting and accurately dispensing prescription medications
  • Monitoring patient medication compliance and identifying over-usage patterns
  • Ensuring the legal and appropriate supply of medicines
  • Maintaining confidential, accurate patient records and pharmacy files
  • Advising patients on medication usage, side effects, and addressing their questions
  • Consulting on prescription and OTC medications, including dosage and drug interactions
  • Delivering patient services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
  • Educating patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compounding medications for both internal and external use, including preparation of sterile solutions following proper procedures
  • Supervising pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
  • Managing inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
  • Identifying drug-related problems and communicating effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers to optimize patient care

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year pharmacy experience
  • Experience in Long Term Care and/or Mail Order pharmacy preferred
  • Sterile compounding experience is an asset
  • Valid North Carolina pharmacy license
