\nTHE WORK
\nAs a Cyber Systems Security Engineer, you will take a leadership role in enhancing cybersecurity across SWFTS (Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems). You’ll drive the development and integration of modern cyber solutions that protect and empower critical Department of Defense (DoD) assets.
\nKey responsibilities include:
\nDesigning, implementing, and maintaining security controls to protect system confidentiality, integrity, and availability
\nLeverage guidance from Risk Management Framework (RMF), Security Requirements Guides (SRG), and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) to advance cyber controls in a system security architecture
\nIntegrating secure configuration tools and processes for Linux and Windows environments
\nPerforming security assessments and validating configurations through automated testing and tailored solutions
\nCollaborating across teams on secure system and network design that balances mission goals and cyber protection
\nLeading technical meetings, translating security requirements into actionable engineering tasks, and mentoring team members
\nPlease note:
\nThis position is located in Manassas, VA.
\nThis position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

\nBasic Qualifications:
\nA Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering or IT field with 3 years of relevant experience or master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant cyber experience; Or 7 years of relevant experience.
\nExperience with Linux systems and large system development
\nExperience with basic networking switch/router/firewall/IDS concepts
\nExperience developing Cyber Security Solutions (in any form) as a team
\nDesired Skills:
\nKnowledge of containers and securing the infrastructure through the cloud
\nExperience in agile methodologies that highlight Atlassian tools, namely Jira and Confluence
\nExperience in model-based system engineering concepts (MBSE)
\nExperience in researching new Cybersecurity capabilities, performing trade studies, and providing expertise to peers and leadership.
\nProficiency with Cyber best practice security concepts, models, and methods, (e.g., zero trust architecture and maturity model, advanced authentication methods, STIG coding practices)
\nAbility to communicate and work effectively with internal members and external customers
\nCreative thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and a continuous learning mindset
\nLinux experience in scripting and/or development, e.g. Python, C, C++, Rust
\nStrong communication and leadership skills to engage internal teams and external stakeholders
\nPossess (or must obtain within 6 months of hiring) an approved DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level II (Security+, GSEC, etc.)

\nAbility to Work Remotely:
\nPart-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
\nWork Schedules:
\nLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
\nSchedule for this Position:
\n4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
