Job Overview:The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a key healthcare professional responsible for overseeing and directing nursing care in the cath lab and interventional radiology departments. A proactive and enthusiastic approach is essential to contribute to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:Essential Functions: The following duties are critical to the role:

Assessment (20%):
- Conducts thorough nursing assessments for new admissions or transfers upon arrival to the PACU.
- Accurately documents patient assessments.
- Provides timely ongoing reassessments, recording relevant observations.

Planning (10%):
- Develops and coordinates a care plan based on initial assessment data, patient diagnosis, and physician orders.
- Identifies patient care needs and formulates nursing interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
- Collaborates with healthcare team members to coordinate daily care plans for assigned patients.

Implementation (30%):
- Documents and provides nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs and changes in condition.
- Coordinates and communicates patient care with other disciplines.
- Ensures accurate and timely review and initiation of physician orders.
- Recognizes changes in patient conditions and takes appropriate nursing actions.
- Adheres to medication administration policies and performs blood-drawing techniques for lab specimens.
- Notifies anesthesia and surgical teams of significant patient condition changes.
- Assists physicians with procedures and examinations.

Evaluation (10%):
- Documents the effectiveness of nursing care and adjusts care plans as necessary.
- Evaluates patient education effectiveness and modifies plans accordingly.
- Assesses pain management effectiveness and takes appropriate nursing actions.

Professional/Leadership (10%):
- Engages in continuous learning to enhance professional skills through committee participation, staff meetings, and educational programs.
- Arrives on time for shifts and begins duties promptly.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues, patients, and families.
- Identifies issues, gathers relevant data, and communicates solutions effectively.
- Oversees care provided by Care Partners.
- Incorporates customer service standards into patient care practices.

Safety/Infection Control (5%):
- Follows safety and infection control protocols, including universal precautions.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Reports risk management concerns and completes annual mandatory training.

Service Excellence (10%):
- Delivers high-quality care in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Addresses patient and family needs promptly and effectively.
- Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality.
- Utilizes resources efficiently and recommends improvements to enhance service delivery.

Quality Improvement (5%):
- Contributes to the development of unit-based performance improvement plans.
- Collects and discusses performance improvement data.
- Participates in research activities within the nursing unit.

Age-Appropriate Care:
- Provides care suitable for various age groups, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to meet patient needs.
- Involves family members in care decisions.

Specialized Care (1%):
- Implements restraint care and monitors patient responses.
- Assesses and manages pain, incorporating cultural beliefs into care plans.
- Recognizes and reports signs of abuse or neglect.

Job Specifications:Minimum Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent education for licensing.
Minimum Experience: At least one year of medical-surgical experience is required; critical care or post-anesthesia care experience is preferred.
Required Course: Advanced Life Support (ALS).
Working Conditions:- Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

- May require irregular hours and managing multiple demands.
