Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This leadership opportunity calls for a Director of Pharmacy to oversee pharmacy operations and serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to support a medical center in Florida. This contract role offers the chance to lead within an acute care setting, working Monday through Friday with no weekend coverage, providing vital support during a transition period until a permanent internal hire is made.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Florida Pharmacist and Consultant
- Minimum 3 years of pharmacy management experience, including inpatient settings
- Knowledge of IV preparations and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards
- Experience with order entry systems such as CPSI and site automation systems like Omnicell preferred (training available)
- Demonstrated leadership in pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
Responsibilities:
- Provide pharmacy leadership and oversight as PIC, maintaining focus on regulatory compliance and quality standards
- Support TJC preparation efforts to ensure accreditation readiness
- Manage limited weekday staffing consisting of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists (3 techs, 1 full-time pharmacist, 4 PRN pharmacists)
- Oversee sterile compounding activities in collaboration with the pharmacy team
- Collaborate on Controlled Prescriptive Authority (CPA) processes via the CPS system
- Engage with onsite pharmacy staff during initial training and ongoing operations
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to approximately 4:30/5:00 PM
- No weekend coverage required

- Based in Moore Haven, FL, with close proximity to Fort Myers and Palm Beach airports
- Onsite hotel accommodations available nearby (Hampton Inn)
- Facility serves acute care ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical specialties
