This role is based at a military medical facility located in Fort Benning, GA. The area, known as the "Tri-Community," includes Columbus, Georgia; Fort Benning, Georgia; and Phoenix City, Alabama. Columbus, the third-largest city in Georgia, boasts a vibrant population of around 250,000 residents. In addition to being home to one of the premier Army installations, Columbus hosts the headquarters of several prominent companies. The beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida and the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains are just a few hours away.

As a Physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology, your duties will include:

• Acting as a specialist and consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology, focusing on outpatient care.
• Conducting examinations, diagnosing, and treating a comprehensive range of OB/GYN patients.
• Demonstrating proficiency in both abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasonography relevant to outpatient medicine.
• Utilizing screening and diagnostic techniques for OB/GYN cancers, including biopsies and colposcopy.
• Providing primary preventive care and education to women attending the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic.
• Assessing both functional and dysfunctional issues related to the female pelvis, such as masses, pain, urinary complaints, abnormal bleeding, hormonal imbalances, and infections.
• Evaluating emergency obstetric situations and either treating them or making appropriate referrals.

You will also:

• Perform advanced examinations and treatments for patients referred for consultation.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with medical management issues, analyzing both laboratory and clinical data to provide suitable treatment and follow-up.
• Collaborate with specialists in related fields to address interconnected medical concerns.
• Admit and discharge patients as necessary.
• Work in the labor and delivery unit to assist with childbirth.
• Handle emergencies and fulfill on-call responsibilities.

Additionally, you will:

• Engage in the medical education training program within the department.
• Guide, instruct, and mentor residents, interns, medical students, and other healthcare professionals in outpatient OB-GYN care.
• Deliver lectures on various aspects of outpatient OB-GYN care when requested.
• Participate in departmental and service-specific conferences and lectures.
• Stay updated on advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through annual continuing medical education.

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Possess a permanent, full, and unrestricted medical license to practice in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a US territory.
