Low Voltage Technician

Compensation: $23-26

Schedule: Hours somewhat flexible. 9-430 first week during training, then can come in earlier 730/8-330/4, if desired.

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to support the installation, testing, and maintenance of structured cabling systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cable testing, network connectivity, and basic troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and interpret results from cable testers to verify connectivity and performance.
  • Perform daisy chaining of devices and connections where required.
  • Connect equipment from PC → wall outlet → patch panel → switch, ensuring proper network flow.
  • Terminate and test RJ45 connectors for Ethernet cabling.
  • Assist with organizing and labeling cabling infrastructure.
  • Support troubleshooting of basic connectivity issues.
  • Experience with Cat 5 and 6 cables
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while handling tools and cables.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with RJ45 connectors and Ethernet cabling standards.
  • Ability to use cable testers and interpret results.
  • Understanding of patch panels, switches, and wall outlets in structured cabling.
  • Basic knowledge of network topology and connectivity.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
