Bring your expertise in special education to a collaborative, forward-thinking environment! Three passionate Special Education Teachers are needed onsite for a full-time contract role in a supportive, innovative district near Bellows Falls, VT. This is an opportunity to impact students from August 19, 2026, through June 14, 2027, working 35 hours weekly as part of a dedicated team.

Available assignments include two positions at the high school level in a pioneering pilot program, and a third at the elementary level. High school roles focus on guiding students with executive function concerns, Autism, and severe behaviors—helping them develop real-world employment and life skills, often in partnership with a tech center. The elementary team delivers targeted support to students with learning disabilities and high-functioning Autism, collaborating closely with PT/OT professionals.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Professional Vermont Teaching License with one of the following: Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, or Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
  • Experience working with students with Autism, severe behaviors, or learning disabilities
  • Adaptable mindset and ability to think creatively in programming and instruction
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with a multidisciplinary team
  • Fingerprinting required (approved prints from recent school assignments accepted)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction aligned to student IEPs
  • Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages growth in academic and life skills
  • Utilize flexible, innovative strategies to meet diverse learner needs
  • Collaborate with ancillary staff and families to support student progress
  • Document student development and maintain required records
