Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of children and families by supporting elementary students as a dedicated Adjustment Counselor for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate with dynamic educational teams across multiple elementary schools. You'll play a vital role in helping students access academic and social opportunities, responding to needs as they arise, and providing rehabilitative support.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in School Social Work, School Psychology, School Counseling, or a related mental health discipline with relevant school-based experience
- Active or eligible certification in one or more of the following: School Counselor (NH 0040), School Psychologist (NH 0046), Associate School Psychologist (NH 0047), School Social Worker (NH 0049)
- Demonstrated expertise working with elementary-aged children and their families
- Strong collaborative skills with a commitment to contributing in team environments
- Adaptability and compassion to support young learners in varied school settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver both immediate and ongoing counseling services to elementary students, fostering students’ social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collaborate with educational teams at multiple schools to identify student needs and implement supportive strategies (assignments: 20% Franklin, 20% Wheelock, 30% Symonds, 30% Fuller)
- Engage families in meaningful partnerships aimed at improving student outcomes and school experiences
- Maintain thorough records, uphold confidentiality, and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other student support initiatives
- Work a full-time schedule of 35 hours/week, from late August through mid-June
