Sign Language Interpreter in Dover, PA

Enhance the educational experience of a 5th-grade student by providing on-site sign language interpretation in a vibrant Life Skills classroom. This contract opportunity places you at the heart of an inclusive learning environment, supporting a young learner for the entire academic year from August 19th, 2026, to June 2nd, 2027. You'll work a consistent full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:20 am to 2:10 pm.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Hold a minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, as required
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly K-12, is strongly preferred
• Ability to build rapport with students and teachers to foster an accessible classroom environment
• Skilled at adapting interpretation methods to individual student needs, especially in Life Skills or special education settings
• Professional, dependable, and able to maintain student confidentiality at all times

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 in-person interpretation services throughout the school day for a 5th-grade student in a Life Skills classroom
• Accurately convey instruction, classroom discussion, and peer interactions in real time
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to shape an optimal learning experience
• Maintain clear records and documentation as needed by the school or district
• Support the student's social and academic growth through effective communication access
