This position is perfect for individuals eager to support students in Special Education (SPED) classrooms on an as-needed basis with the benefit of possibly transitioning to a full-time role for the 26/27 school year. The position is within the Simi Valley area and involves providing vital classroom assistance as part of a building sub pool, giving you flexibility and valuable hands-on experience.
In this role, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful daily impact and gain exposure to various classroom settings, all while enjoying the flexibility to pick up substitute shifts according to your schedule.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of one year of experience working in SPED classroom environments
- Willingness to accept substitute assignments as needs arise
- Flexibility in caseload preference to provide support where needed most
- Ability to reliably commute to the Simi Valley area
- Passionate about supporting student success and collaborating with teaching staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students with special needs
- Assist lead teachers in daily classroom activities and implementation of individualized education plans
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Supervise students during class, transitions, and activities
- Adapt to different classroom dynamics and contribute to student learning outcomes
This contract role offers the convenience of a sub pool, with opportunities to pick up shifts at a competitive rate of $29 per hour, and the potential to secure a full-time position for the next school year.
