\nMental Health Nurse Practitioner Role Scope
\nEvaluate and manage psychiatric disorders
\nCoordinate appropriate follow up care, referrals, and case management
\nPerforms crisis intervention and medication management
\nDevelop and implement long and short range treatment plans
\nOrders and performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, and provides patient notification and follow up care
\nSolicits medical management consult or input when appropriate
\nCompletes all clinical reminders to keep each patient up to date in the system
\nWork in collaborative practice with Psychiatrist
\nTelepsychiatry opportunities when clinically appropriate

\nAdvanced Practitioner Requirements
\nGraduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Masters program preferred

- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut \n
- Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC. \n
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification preferred
