Position Overview

Our organization, in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is on the lookout for a dedicated full-time general physiatrist specializing in Cancer Rehabilitation to join our expanding team.

The role involves delivering comprehensive rehabilitation services tailored to patients with various cancer diagnoses, both before, during, and after their treatment journey.

The selected candidate will engage in consultative and outpatient services at our cancer center, collaborating with a vibrant community of clinicians and researchers focused on cancer care within the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should possess a keen interest in managing both inpatient and outpatient care for patients facing cancer and related medical challenges. We provide avenues for teaching, research, and administrative leadership.

  • Must be board certified or eligible in PM&R.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, teaching, and leadership abilities.
  • Fellowship training in cancer rehabilitation is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Current Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility to obtain one is required.
Additional Requirements
  • For an Associate Professor appointment, a minimum of 5 years of experience and proven scholarly contributions in research, teaching, or administrative roles is typically necessary.
  • For a full Professor appointment, at least 10 years of experience and a demonstrated national or international reputation in the field is generally required.
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity is essential for tenure track positions, including teaching, academic service, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and a successful history of funding acquisition.
