Responsibilities

The Ophthalmic Technician coordinates comprehensive patient assessments by gathering detailed medical backgrounds, including primary concerns, hereditary ocular conditions, and pharmacological profiles. They expertly execute clinical diagnostics-such as sensory-motor evaluations, pupillary assessments, and intraocular pressure monitoring-while supporting the physician during laser treatments and minor surgical interventions. In addition to technical testing, this role upholds rigorous facility standards by sterilizing instruments, overseeing inventory levels, and resolving technical issues with specialized hardware like autoclaves and tonometers. By optimizing patient throughput and managing appointment recovery efforts, they ensure a dedicated and seamless clinical experience.

Required Skills
  • High school diploma
  • 1+ year of healthcare or ophthalmic assistant experience
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to work at varying locations
  • CPR Certification

Public - Preferred Skills
  • Certification as an ophthalmic assistant preferred
  • One to Two years' experience ophthalmic assistant preferred
  • Highschool Diploma
  • Bilingual (Sugarland only)

Schedule/Shift

Monday - Friday - 8 hour shift between of 6:30am-6:30pm
