Job Description
Step into an engaging, impactful role supporting secondary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the upcoming school year. This contract position is based on-site at a campus near Katy, TX, with a primary assignment to a single school and the possibility of occasionally serving a second campus, ensuring you have the chance to deeply connect and make a difference with your caseload. The assignment runs from August 11, 2026, to May 26, 2027, offering both full-time (37.5 hours/week) and flexible part-time options.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid, active Professional License as an SLPA required
- Previous experience in school settings, especially at the secondary (middle/high school) level, highly valued
- Must meet all state fingerprinting and background check requirements before your start date
- Ability to manage a caseload averaging 80 students
- Professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- Experience floating between campuses is a plus
- Willingness to complete an affidavit regarding prior employment with school districts
- Please indicate if you have previously worked for this school district or if you have ever been terminated from any school district
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language support services to secondary students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success
- Accurately document all services and progress for assigned students
- Support the development and execution of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies at all times
