Interim Director of Pharmacy

Looking for an experienced Pharmacy Director interested in an interim leadership assignment in Juneau. This is a 13-week+ opportunity with potential for temp-to-hire for the right candidate.

Position Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 13 weeks+
• Schedule: Full-time leadership role
• Setting: 60-bed hospital
• Temp-to-hire candidates preferred; experienced travelers considered
• Housing/travel assistance: Housing pass-through may be available due to the cost of living in Juneau

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and oversight of the pharmacy department
• Manage pharmacy personnel and departmental operations
• Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met
• Oversee pharmacy budgeting and financial operations
• Manage purchasing and inventory
• Support quality improvement and operational initiatives
• Provide leadership and direction to pharmacy staff

Requirements

• Current/recent hospital Director of Pharmacy (DOP) experience required
• Hospital pharmacy leadership and department oversight experience
• Experience managing pharmacy personnel, compliance, budgeting, and purchasing
• Alaska Pharmacist License required
• Candidates without an Alaska license must be able to obtain one quickly
• Alaska currently does not require a pharmacy law exam, with licensing expected to take approximately 3-4 weeks
