Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An interim leadership opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge and Interim Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health facility with 165 licensed beds and an average daily census of 130. This contract role, beginning 08/31/26, will provide critical pharmacy leadership while the permanent Director of Pharmacy position is being filled, following the retirement of the current DOP.
Responsibilities include managing staffing and administrative duties related to the Pharmacist in Charge role, overseeing pharmacy operations, and collaborating with clinical and technical staff in a facility staffed by one full-time pharmacist, 4 per diem pharmacists, and 2.6 FTE pharmacy technicians. Technicians handle order filling, delivery, and inventory management. The facility uses the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation, with training provided onsite by the outgoing Director of Pharmacy.
Coverage is required Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with additional on-call duties after each shift and on weekends. The dress code is business casual, reflecting a professional but comfortable working environment.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active West Virginia pharmacist licensure (required)
- Experience as a Pharmacist in Charge
- Hospital pharmacy background highly preferred
- Familiarity with Omnicell automation systems preferred
- Ability to work independently and lead a small pharmacy team
