This travel pharmacist role offers a 13-week assignment in Arizona with a unique opportunity to gain experience in Indian Health Service (IHS) settings. The position supports pharmacy services at a main campus and several satellite clinics, providing direct patient care across diverse populations including neonatal, pediatric, adult, geriatric, oncology, and obstetric patients.

Location: Phoenix, AZ (assignment involves work on a reservation in Northwestern Arizona; housing available locally on reservation or in Flagstaff with a monthly subsidy if available)
Schedule:

  • 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
  • Workweek: Wednesday through Tuesday
  • Hours: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–9:00 PM; Saturday & Sunday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive pharmacy and medication management services in accordance with policies
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services for inpatient and outpatient departments
  • Participate in rotational shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Engage in clinical program development and quality care initiatives
  • Assist with clinical and operational supervision of pharmacy staff and programs at designated clinics

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license from any U.S. state or territory (no Arizona license required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a registered pharmacist
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical pharmacist experience

Additional Details:

  • Fingerprinting clearance required prior to start
  • Local housing with potential subsidy provided on reservation or in nearby city, depending on availability
