Restaurant General Manager
Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead all aspects of restaurant operations for a high-volume, casual dining establishment. The General Manager will be responsible for driving sales and profitability, developing high-performing teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and ensuring operational excellence. This leader will oversee daily operations while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Direct all day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency.
- Execute company standards related to food quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements as needed.
Financial Management
- Maintain full accountability for Profit & Loss performance.
- Analyze sales, labor, food cost, beverage cost, and controllable expenses.
- Develop action plans to achieve revenue growth and profitability goals.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, inventory controls, and financial reporting.
Team Development
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain top talent.
- Build a strong leadership team through ongoing development and mentoring.
- Conduct performance evaluations and create succession plans.
- Foster a positive and engaging workplace culture that promotes teamwork and accountability.
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives outstanding service and hospitality.
- Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
- Drive initiatives that improve guest satisfaction, loyalty, and community engagement.
Sales & Community Involvement
- Develop and execute local marketing initiatives to increase traffic and sales.
- Build relationships within the local community to enhance brand awareness.
- Identify opportunities to grow market share and improve competitive positioning.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of successful General Manager experience in a full-service or high-volume restaurant environment.
- Proven track record of P&L management and achieving financial goals.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Experience managing labor, food costs, inventory, and operational budgets.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- ServSafe Certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred.
Preferred Background
- Casual dining or polished casual restaurant experience.
- Experience leading annual sales volumes of $3M+.
- Multi-unit exposure is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in talent development and leadership succession planning.
