Key Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (DHH) or substantial progress toward one
  • Experience serving K-12 students in educational settings
  • Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies for DHH learners
  • Strong communication and organization skills for effective collaboration across sites
  • Ability to travel between locations as an itinerant educator (mileage reimbursement available)
  • Passion for fostering student growth and ensuring accessibility for diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in various school settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
  • Participate in IEP development, meetings, and implementation for each student
  • Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lessons to meet unique communication and learning needs
  • Travel between assigned schools to serve caseload as required; flexibility in scheduling hours
  • Stay updated on best practices and new research within DHH education
