Pharmacy Technician - Wheat Ridge, CO

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Support a busy retail/outpatient pharmacy in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting as a Pharmacy Technician under a contract/contract-to-hire arrangement. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with shifts starting between 7:45 AM and 8:00 AM, ending at 5:30 PM and including a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter prescription and patient demographic information into the pharmacy system.
• Fill, label, package, and prepare prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
• Process insurance claims, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and 340B-eligible prescriptions.
• Assist patients with prescription pick-ups, refills, transfers, and medication inquiries, referring clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Handle payments and adhere to cash-handling procedures.
• Manage medication orders, receive shipments, maintain inventory, and rotate stock.
• Remove expired medications and support compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Assist with medication and vaccine orders for clinic use.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, medical assistants, and pharmacists to coordinate patient care.
• Deliver compassionate service to a diverse patient population, including uninsured and low-income individuals.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Active and clear Colorado pharmacy technician license.
• Certification through PTCB or NHA required.
• Familiarity with EPIC Willow system is preferred; training available for qualified candidates (1-2 days).
