School-Based Physical Therapist - Aurora, IL

Make a meaningful impact this school year by supporting students with special needs as a Physical Therapist in a dynamic educational environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to work onsite during a short-term assignment from mid-August to early November, with a focus on students of varying grade levels, including a strong emphasis on transition-age young adults (20–22 years old).

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Illinois Physical Therapy license
• Demonstrated pediatric experience, with a solid background working in schools
• Prior experience serving special education populations
• Skilled in assessing and addressing gross motor deficits and providing educationally relevant PT services

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative physical therapy for students, fostering increased independence at school
• Collaborate with educators and related service providers on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop strategies to help students acquire or compensate for deficits in gross motor skills, ensuring meaningful participation in educational activities
• Maintain thorough documentation of services, progress, and outcomes
• Integrate therapy interventions into daily classroom routines, adapting to individual cognitive, sensory, and physical needs
