Employment Type: PRN (as needed)
Position OverviewThe role involves conducting computerized tomographic (CT) procedures to assist in diagnosing diseases and injuries, adhering to protocols set by radiologists. Please note that this position does not include performing biopsy procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and position patients accurately while selecting appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
- Administer contrast media and/or medications in compliance with state and federal regulations and within the accepted scope of practice.
- Monitor patients during procedures, reporting any unusual activity, and suggest updates to protocols as necessary.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Education: Completion of a program in Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy.
- Experience: No prior experience is required.
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
- Regularly engage in oral communication, utilizing hearing and speech.
- Frequently lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs, including patients.
- Occasionally lift and move objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
- Rarely required to kneel or sit.
For positions in Illinois:
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- ARRT-R Radiography or ARRT-T Radiation Therapy or ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
- ARRT-CT Computed Tomography or Computed Tomography (CT) Credential
- Radiologic Technologists - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
For positions in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin, similar certifications apply as per state regulations.
Work ScheduleThis is a PRN / Per Diem position.
