We are currently looking for a travel Occupational Therapist to join our team in Urbana, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with patient transfers from beds, chairs, and floors, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics to minimize injury risks.
• Develop comprehensive care plans that incorporate treatment goals, expected outcomes, and discharge strategies, adjusting as necessary based on patient feedback and evidence.
• Provide education to patients, families, caregivers, students, and other healthcare professionals using effective teaching techniques.
• Assess clinical findings to establish diagnoses and evaluate care outcomes.
• Conduct examinations using reliable methods tailored to the patient's primary concerns, screening results, and medical history.
• Screen patients to assess the necessity and effectiveness of therapy services.
• Utilize support staff in accordance with legal and ethical standards, offering regular feedback.
• Document evaluations and care plans, including treatment goals, modifications, and patient responses.
• Complete annual training as required by the DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program, if applicable.
• Implement intervention strategies that are functional and address both the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families.
• Adapt approaches based on patient behavior and performance, using standardized outcome measures to accurately reflect functional performance.
• Communicate patient progress, changes in condition, transfer recommendations, and discharge plans with the healthcare team.

Schedule Information

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Experience in NICU/PEDS is required.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in Illinois
  • Experience in NICU/PICU
  • Inpatient and acute care experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is mandatory.
• Languages: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

The pay package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40 hours per week, subject to confirmation, with a tax-free stipend to be determined.
