Position Overview: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery Unit

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Obstetrics (OB) department is tasked with providing exceptional nursing care to patients by:

  • Utilizing strong organizational and leadership abilities to evaluate patient conditions
  • Identifying and prioritizing patient needs and issues
  • Implementing clinical nursing interventions for patients requiring intensive medical attention
  • Creating and executing patient care plans aimed at improving health outcomes
  • Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
  • Provide care within the framework of woman-, newborn-, and family-centered practices, including those who do not identify strictly as women
  • Deliver both outpatient and inpatient nursing care in Obstetrics/Women's Health as needed
  • Apply the nursing process for women during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, gynecological issues, and neonatal care from birth until discharge
  • Offer care to women of all ages, including triage, assessment, education, stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency management
  • Administer medications safely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in Nursing
  • Licensure: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire; must be obtained from an approved source before providing direct patient care; ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support may be accepted in place of BLS)
    • NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (preferred at hire; must be completed within 3 months of hire)
    • Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification - National Certification Corporation (preferred if interpreting fetal monitoring)
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse (RN); recent experience in OB, ED, or Critical Care is preferred but not mandatory
  • Training: EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred, not required)
Compensation
  • Salary Range:
    • Minimum: $34.33
    • Maximum: $54.93
