Job Description
Take on a highly rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for 6th and 7th grades in a middle school setting near Bolingbrook, IL. This contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00am to 3:15pm, and a 42-minute unpaid lunch. You’ll work closely with a small group of 14 students, offering both instructional and co-teaching support, making a significant impact on their academic journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification for Illinois
- Experience working with middle school students (grades 6-7)
- Strong knowledge in instructional math and ELA at the 6th grade level
- Ability to collaborate on team-taught science and social studies for 7th grade
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for fostering inclusion and academic success among diverse learners
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction for 6th grade math and ELA in a self-contained setting
- Co-teach 7th grade science and social studies classrooms in partnership with general education teachers
- Develop differentiated lesson plans and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation on student achievement and growth
