Job Description
Step into a dynamic role making a tangible impact in students’ lives as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) for a respected district in the Bristol, CT area. This district-wide, full-time opportunity begins August 27, 2026, offering you the chance to support students from Pre-K through grade 12 during an FMLA leave. Although the assignment is expected to last approximately 12 weeks, there’s a high likelihood for extension, but candidates should be eager and committed to a maternity leave opportunity with the understanding that an extension is possible, though not guaranteed.
What you’ll bring:
- Active Connecticut COTA license (CT DPH License/Passed NBCOT Exam) or Connecticut OT license
- Prior experience working in a school setting preferred
- Familiarity with providing therapy to a wide age range and variety of disability populations
- Reliable transportation for travel across the district
- Comfort with collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and working independently
- Commitment to a temporary role covering a maternity leave, with flexibility for a possible extension
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering occupational therapy services and supports to students in Pre-K through 12th grade
- Collaborating with educators, families, and school staff to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with relevant standards and protocols
- Working district-wide, supporting diverse classrooms and therapy needs
- COTAs will engage under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, following both clinical and educational guidelines
