Position Overview

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide both hands-on and remote technical support to end users across the organization. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, operating systems, and network-related issues while supporting endpoint deployment and management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, a solid technical foundation, and experience supporting enterprise desktop environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 desktop support for end users through phone, remote, and onsite support channels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop systems using Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Perform device imaging, provisioning, software installations, upgrades, and system migrations.
  • Support Active Directory user and group administration, including password resets, account management, and access troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and other productivity tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, including VPN, Wi-Fi, and wired network problems.
  • Manage and track incidents, service requests, and asset inventory through the organization's ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate infrastructure, network, or systems teams.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including workstation setup, equipment deployment, and user access provisioning.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and technical procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience providing hands-on and remote desktop support in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience deploying, imaging, and troubleshooting endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune and/or Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
  • Previous help desk or desktop support experience supporting users with technical issues related to:
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Outlook
    • Microsoft 365 applications
    • Network connectivity
    • End-user software applications
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop hardware.
  • Experience troubleshooting printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management processes.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-based Microsoft environments.
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory / Entra ID.
  • Familiarity with remote support tools and endpoint management solutions.
  • Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or related certifications are a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
